"Take care of your customers and they will take care of you."
When a tree is sold, the stand will sell it's self, when demonstrated.
Look for the Davis permanent identification label on the stands, as shown on the home page pictures. Only the Davis Christmas tree stand that meet the high quality standards will have the Davis permanent identification label.
Gary Smith, a successful tree lot operator, has a tree lot in Springfield
Oregon. He has been selling Davis Christmas tree stands from the beginning,
called Tom's Trees. Please read the following dialog he had with me;
I asked, "Gary, tell me. How do you sell the Davis Christmas tree stand."
He said. "John I sell trees and the stand sells it's self."
"How can that be?" I asked. He said, " when a customer comes on my lot I ask
if I can be of any help. When the tree is picked out, I will saw off a fresh
slice of the tree trunk so the tree can absorb water. While I am sawing off
a slice of the tree trunk I will ask, 'What kind of a tree stand do you have
to go on this tree?' When he tells me, I will say. 'You will need a sturdy stand
for this tree. I carry a tree stand you won't believe until you see what it
does. Do you mind if I try it on this tree.
I put the stand on and adjust it upright in less than a minute and before
he can say anything, I say, 'Any time you bring this stand back and buy a tree
I will put it on at no extra charge. Now, do you want me to take it off or leave
it on?"
Then I asked Gary. "How many of your customers have bought the Davis tree
stand." He said. "Ninety percent."
Then I said. "Gary I like your style. May I write up this conversation for
use in advertising, because I think it could be helpful to other tree lot operators."
Gary said. "You sure can." "Thanks Gary."

Oregon, 58th St. & main
Jeff Woods has a tree lot on West 11th Ave. & Bailey
Hill road in West Eugene, Oregon, called Angell Flight Christmas Trees. He
is a new comer to the Christmas tree lot business. Here is what he is saying
about the Davis Christmas tree stand.
"I have been Selling Christmas Trees for the past 9 years and started
carrying the Davis Christmas tree stand three years ago. I noticed a pickup
in tree sales right off. I keep 20 to 25 of the bigger trees on display, at
all the times. When the wind is blowing, I put a sand bag, on the stand to
keep the tree from blowing over. Customers looking for quality trees, like
to walk all around the tree. The stands keep me from having to hold up trees
while the customer looks at them. I just set back and let the customers browse
until they are ready to buy. I have discovered, it is the people who buy good
quality trees is the people who buy the good quality Davis stands. It is a
good feeling knowing my customers are getting the best. I have a sample of
the 2003 model tree stand now and it looks great."
